Ivoclar Systemp Desensitizer

Systemp.desensitizer is suitable for conditioning and desensitizing exposed or cut dentin.

Systemp.desensitizer may reduce the sensitivity to pain by up to 50%, both during the temporary phase and the subsequent placement of the final restoration.

Systemp.desensitizer is suitable for use in temporary restorations, for conventional cementation of direct and indirect restorations, as a re-wetting agent in conjunction with adhesives and if exposed tooth necks or eroded areas are present.

Systemp.desensitizer does not affect the bonding properties of the subsequently applied restorative, luting or temporary materials.

• Direct restorative therapy

Composition

Poly(ethylene glycol)dimethacrylate and glutaraldehyde in an aqueous solution.

• Storage temperature: 2 – 28°C / 36 – 82°F.

1. Temporary restoration

• Prepare cavity / abutment.
• You may take the impression at this stage or wait until you have applied the desensitizer.
• Dentin surfaces must be clean and dry. Keep the working field dry (e.g. cotton rolls).
• Apply Systemp.desensitizer and gently brush it into the dentin for 10 seconds using a suitable instrument (brush, applicator brush).
• Carefully disperse excess with blown air / dry with an air syringe.Do not overdry the dentin.
• Fabricate the temporary restoration and provisionally cement the restoration.

2. Luting / Cementation

• Remove the temporary restoration.
• Clean the preparation, e.g. with a brush, rubber cup, and cleaning paste.
• Dentin surfaces must be clean and dry. Keep the working field dry (e.g. cotton rolls).
• Apply Systemp.desensitizer and gently brush the material into the dentin for 10 seconds using a suitable instrument (brush, applicator brush).
• Carefully disperse excess with blown air / dry with an air syringe.Do not overdry the dentin.
• Try in the restoration.
• Seat the restoration.

3. Direct restorations

• Prepare cavity, excavate caries.
• Dentin surfaces must be clean and dry. Keep the working field dry (rubber dam, e.g. OptraDam® Plus).
• Carefully disperse excess with blown air / dry with an air syringe.Do not overdry the dentin.
• Apply a base / liner, if necessary.
• Place the restoration.
