Warren Lignox Lignocaine 2% A is a local anesthetic solution that is specifically designed to provide pain relief and sedation for patients undergoing surgical, endodontic, and operative procedures in dentistry. It is administered through nerve block or infiltration techniques, allowing for targeted and localized pain control.

The composition of Warren Lignox Lignocaine 2% A includes two key components: adrenaline and lignocaine. Adrenaline, present in a concentration of 1:80000 MG, acts as a vasoconstrictor. It helps to decrease blood flow to the surgical site, reducing bleeding and allowing for better visibility during the procedure.

This vasoconstrictive effect also contributes to the prolonged action of the anesthetic, enhancing its effectiveness.Lignocaine, present in a concentration of 2% w/v, is the primary anesthetic agent in Warren Lignox. It works by stabilizing the neuronal membrane, inhibiting the ionic fluxes necessary for the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. This action blocks the transmission of pain signals from the site of administration, resulting in pain relief for the patient.

Mode of action:

Warren Lignox Lignocaine 2% A contains the anesthetic lignocaine and the vasoconstrictor adrenaline. Lignocaine stabilizes the neuronal membrane by inhibiting ionic fluxes necessary for nerve impulse initiation and conduction, resulting in localized anesthesia. The vasoconstrictive effect of adrenaline reduces blood flow to the surgical site, enhancing the action of the anesthetic.

2. Pharmacokinetic properties – The concentration of Lidocaine in the blood will be determined by its rate of absorption from the site of injection, the rate of tissue distribution and the rate of metabolism and excretion.
3. Shelf Life – Validity Till 2020 . If only part of an ampoule is used, the remainder should be discarded.
4. Storage temperature – 2°C to 8°C (Refrigerate. Do not freeze) and it is protected from light. Once removed from refrigeration for use, it will be stored below 25°C and used within 4 weeks and not returned to the refrigerator.
