Ivoclar Ips Empress Direct Basic Kit IPS Empress Direct is a universal nano-hybrid filling material for direct esthetic restorative procedures. IPS Empress Direct provides a high gloss polish and the lifelike opacity, fluorescence and opalescence that is required to fabricate beautiful and naturally esthetic restorations with remarkable efficiency. The three special flowable Effect materials of IPS Empress Direct Flow enable individual optical effects and the anatomical features of anterior teeth to be recreated in a lifelike fashion

• Anterior restorations (Class III and IV)

• Cervical restorations (Class V, e.g. cervical caries, root erosion, wedge-shaped defects)
• Adjustment of tooth position and shape ( e.g. diastema closure, closure of interdental “black triangles”, lengthening of the incisal edge)

COMPOSITION:

• The monomer matrix is composed of dimethacrylates (20-21.5 wt%, opalescent shade 17 wt%)
• The fillers contain barium glass, ytterbium trifluoride, mixed oxide, silicon dioxide and copolymer (77.5-79 wt%, opalescent shade 83 wt%)
• Additional contents: additives, catalysts, stabilizers and pigments (<1.0 wt%)
• The total content of inorganic fillers is 75-79 wt% or 52-59 vol% (opalescent shade 60.5 wt% or 45 vol%)
• The particle size of the inorganic fillers is between 40 nm and 3000 nm with a mean particle size of 550 nm.
• Light-curing nanohybrid composite for the most esthetic direct restorations.

With the IPS Empress Direct system you get very natural results. Due to perfectly matched Dentin and Enamel shades and calibrated translucencies, simply replace what you have taken away. Replace dentin with the corresponding Dentin shade determined by the IPS Empress Direct shade guide. Then do the same with the enamel.

Step 1: Tooth preparation

Step 2: Match and replace the dentin with the appropriate Dentin shade (eg A2 Dentin)

Step 3: Replace the enamel with the appropriate Enamel shade (eg A2 Enamel)

Step 4: Finish and polish to a high luster (eg with Astropol and Astrobrush)
